The hood is on the jacket for a reason, shop it on, for the duration of rain or hail storms it's going to be reliable available & you will get excitement from the hood then, or snow would be saved off your head and face. or you could ought to maintain an umbrella around, that's greater tiresome, and seems unusual to be carried around for the duration of relatively advantageous days that may exchange so immediately. you do no longer ought to placed on the hood on advantageous days, that look wouldl be stupid. yet on the jacket that is advantageous that way. :-)

Tie a rope round the hood and attach to a lamp post, shut the rest of the jacket in the car boot, leaving the hood on the outside and drive away as fast as you can.

Hard to say without seeing it, but maybe you could take a seam ripper -- get one in any fabric department -- and release the stitching. You're going to have to sew the seam that was holding it on back together.
I'm thinking you're going to mess this up. Do you know someone who can sew? I'd hesitate to do this myself, and I've been sewing since about 1965.

It depends how you want it to look. Do you want it neat or tattered. if tattered then take a pocket knife or any kind of knife poke holes and then rip it off. If you want it to be neat then just take a pair of siccorss to it. in the end just depends on what exactly you are going for. Hope this helped any.
