I'm not engaged or never was proposed to. I'm single. But if i was engaged and lost it i would try to look for it and buy a new one that looked exactly like my other one and then tell my fiance the truth.

ive never had one to loose (say awwww )
but i met a man who lost his wedding ring whilst playing football he spent 2 days scouring the muddy pitch trying to find it

I'd start spazing and collapse to the floor crying. After my huge crying fit, I would finally decide to look for it, and if I didn't find it, I'd ask my fiance to buy me a new one.

What could I do apart from look for it? If all else fails and my fiancee was super sensitive, I'd try and buy a duplicate.

cry then get over it. It happens. I would not know how I lost it though, because it never comes off my finger.

Have a fit and tell my fiance and he would buy me a new one. I don't take mine off, though so I can't see that ever happening.
