I had a reduction Feb 2006 and don't regret it one bit. Insurance paid 100% of it.
I've got a long "surgery story" if you want to send me your email address.
Also this site helped me out a lot:

38J to 38C Feb 2006
I don't regret it one bit and I'd do it again if I had to.

i am a few years older and a little bigger than you are, but none the less i can totally understand where you are coming from. i have a few words of advice.
#1 document your pain, shoulder and back issues with your doctor frequently...this can help insurance cover the surgery for you in the future
#2 if you have any excess weight to lose, give it a try before going to the doctor. if you are overweight at all the doctor will tell you to lose weight before he will agree to surgery (some docs and insurance companies think big breasts are a weight issue, we with the problem know differently) it's good to go in prepared to the doctor, so i would suggest being a healthy normal weight
#3 many people say that after they had children their breasts got big again, even if they didn't breast feed and even if they shed the baby weight - it's a serious surgery with a long recovery time, so i would consider waiting until after your child bearing years so that you only had to do the surgery once, who wants to deal with all that pain twice?
hope some of this has helped, trust me, i understand where you are coming from. i can't wait until i am done having children and can have mine reduced and lifted, i'm sick of carrying them around! i wish the best of luck for you - in the meantime, try going to a specialty shop and having your bras made for you, it's expensive, but can really help the shoulders and back! good luck!

Go see a plastic surgeon. Get some professional advice. Ask to see before and after pictures of some of her other patients.
See a second plastic surgeon for a second opinion. Ask the same questions.
Good luck.

my mom is thinking about it she is about the same size as you.. she is a little afraid of having to stay out of work for almost a month and all the pain right after you get it.. but if you really dont want all the back pain i suggest that you get it

I am a male Dr with just one piece of advice: do not underestimate this operation. Try to talk with women who have had it done, it is a far bigger operation than enlargement.

I know three women who have gotten the reduction (one your age, two a bit older), and they couldn't be happier.
