Why is it that in order to play video games on a computer you sometimes need a very powerfull computer to play it yet the same game will run on something like a PSP which is nowhere near as powerfull as a computer?

The biggest thing is the operating system (windows). PSP games are not running on an operating system and don't need extra security features and components to run!

Graphics are nowhere near as good either. If you plugged your PSP into a computer monitor to play the game off of that, you'd see how bad the graphics really are. Gameplay tends to be watered down as well with minimal options for saving, etc. It's a similar game but not the same.

There is a big difference on the quality of the picture between the two, PCs have a far better picture than PSPs. Most of the power is needed for those excellent pictures.

Give us examples.

Also, PSP games are dumbed down versions of their PC games. Heck, any Console games are dumbed down versions of PC games. Perfect example is Battlefied 2: Modern Combat for the PS2 and Battlefield 2 for the PC. I own the PC game and enjoyed it immensly, so I thought I would get it for my PS2..... big mistake. Luckily I just rented the PS2 game to check it out.
