Some excellent games are Mass Effect, Halo 3, GoW, Condemned, Assassins Creed, Bioshock, Call of Duty 4 and I highly recommend the Orange Box. There are a ton of great games so just buy what you want or something that your friends play as gaming with friends is better.

Some fun, offline action/adventure/RPG games include Naruto: Rise of a Ninja, Eternal Sonata, Mass Effect, and Blue Dragon.

Actually most originol xbox games can be played on the 360, and yes they can be played on xbox live.
Older originol xbox games can't be played unless they are quite popular and some unfamiliar games wont be compatible iether.
Some realy great games are:
Bioshok
Halo 3
Call of duty 4
Assassins creed
All of thease games dramaticly insane.

you can play some there is a list of them and yes you can still play on xbox live, however like i said there are only a select few games that can be played
