i took a first response and it came out positive but the second line came out realllllllly light, then i took a ept and it came out negative..... what does this mean???

Pregnancy tests detect different levels of HCG (the hormone in your urine) so one test may pick it up and the other one may not be sensitive enough. I had 5 negatives til I finally got a positive and now I have a 3 year old boy!
It is easier to get a false negative than a false positive.

False positives are very rare. You are pregnant and the second test couldn't pick up your hcg levels and that is why it said negative.
Take another test the first thing in the morning and make an appointment with your doctor so they can do a test to confirm it too.

It means that you "were" pregnant but you are about to have a very early miscarriage. I'm really sorry. The exact same thing has just happened to me, i had a positive, then a very faint positive, then a negative and i have just started bleeding today, thats the 2nd very early miscarriage i've had this year. If i wasn't trying to concieve i wouldn't have tested so early and so wouldn't have known i was pregnant, and would have just thought this was a late period.

Take another test. I had a false positive about 6 months ago. I took 3 tests last time to determine if I was pregnant. I did the digital test too. All 3 were positive. I'm 21 weeks.

even if the line is realllllllly light it is still a positive reading. you can also have a false negative, but there is no such thing as a false positive sweetie i think its time to go to the doctor

You are pregnant, your hormones just aren't high enough to activate the levels on the second test. Take another test either first thing in the morning, or in a few more days. You can't have a false positive!

It means you need to either take a third test of go to the Drs to get a blood test done to find out your HCG count

it means that you need to go to the doctor, you could be pregant and the hormom that says that you are pregnant is low so it may not make all test show up. but you may not be. just go to the doc!
