The octane rating that your car manufacturer specifies is a minimum rating, therefore the putting super unleaded in would have no deterimental effect at all, infact you may notice a slight increase in mpg; this is still debatable.
All manufacturers claim that their fuel has some form of cleaner in it - as the majority of them purchase their fuel on the open market it is just marketing bs.

The higher octane fuels are designed for high performance vehicles - you would just be wasting your money putting these fuels into your vehicle (they are more expensive than standard unleaded). If however you do have a high performance Renault Clio, such as Clio Sport etc then you would notice an improvement in throttle response. Detergents in Fuel - personally I would advise purchasing over the counter additives which you apply every 6 months or so.

"Super Unleaded" as they call it is just a higher octane of petrol meaning it burns faster - this will result in less miles per gallon but a slight increase in performance
i don't know what the ration of fuel to detergent that Texaco use but i do now it is only good for your car in small doses (IE 10L every 100miles) the reason for this is because it has a small percentage of acid which cleans everything it touches - which is fine but the dirt has to go somewhere and the end of the line is out the exhaust - but there is a component on most vehicles which is called a catalyst converter which is like a metal ball with minute holes all through it and any dirt which contacts it will not be able to get through it and therefore block the catalyst and cause some major problems down the line

Your car needs unleaded 95 octane or better. It is probably higher compression than most, and using fuel under 95 octane would either cause missing, or cause the operating computer to retard your ignition timing to protect the engine and cause a drop in power and MPG. Using higher octane would most likely be a waste of money, unless you are already having a knock problem. Most modern fuels have a detergency factor. Every year or so BMW tests fuels and then publishes photo-micrographs of the results of their testing. Texaco, Mobil, and Chevron tested the highest, the last time I checked, but things often change.

I have been going through this battle for six months or so, with a prformance engine i built. 97 uld will produce more power if you use it as it burns colder. You will not require it in a small clio. It will only waste your money. 95 is fine in your car. Any lower and you would create a pinking and knocking in your engine which will destroy your engine. And your catalic converter.
The detergent is very minute and does clean the inners of your engine and fuel system but only if you use it over a longer time. And does no damage to your engine.

98 or 97 octane fuel provide a bit more power then regular fuel, however on some cars there is a plug under the bonnet that allow the fuel rating to be changed from regular to 98 octane.
If your car does not have this plug, then I suspect it will make little or no difference to the performance.
Ja.

If you went with a higher octane in gas it prolly wouldn't do anything, since your car states that it takes a certain octane already. If you opt for a lower octane then 95 then your car won't produce the power that it should have and simply "Lag".
Good luck.

You can go higher with no problems other than wasting your money but if you go lower octane, you may get a knock or pinging. You can adjust your timing to compensate for the lower octane though.
