When something is meant to be, the universe conspires to make it happen. This is a lesson about destiny.

When omens/signs are read show us the path to follow.

God is found along our travels, rather than just in a designated place. "I couldn't have found God in the seminary, he thought, looking at the sunrise.

Love is described as "The pure Language of the World" Without this love, life has no meaning. Coelho suggests that it is this love that drives us to go on, to discover and learn.

The idea of realising a destiny is a strong lesson in the book. "...The incredible certaintly that everything under the sun has been written by one hand only." Everyone plays his or her part in the history of the world. When one persues their destiny, they are closest to the soul of the world. It is our dreams and ambitions that make us spiritually alive.

Coelho suggests wisdom and intelligence are gained through constant travel or journeys onwards. Fluidity rather than static repetitiveness. "Those gypsies really are smart, he thought. Maybe it was because they moved around so much."

I don't know about ten...it's been awhile, but the one that stands out the most to me, is sometimes your treasure is right under your nose.

I love that book!!!! And all his books!
