So what you're saying is christians are hypocrites because some christians get divorced and remarry, and some christians, not necessarily in all cases the same ones, say divorcing and remarrying is a sin.
-
The truth is some denominations "forbid" it in almost all cases, others will "annull" a marriage for a wider variety of transgressions on the part of one of the parties. Regardless, any person is entitled to a divorce in most states for no reason at all. As usual, all faiths have adherants who strictly follow the tenets of their religion, and others who follow only those parts which suit them. The matter is private between the person and the other members of their faith, and ultimately the judgment of whatever God their may or may not be.
-
Whatever personal / spiritual qualms you do or don't have about divorce and remairage or polygamy is your own personal business. The limits of your behavior are governed by laws created by our duly elected representatives. ....seperate issues, as in First amendment.

A good christian can have as many wives as he wants, one at a time of course. Divorce doesn't make you a bad christian and don't let the ignorant idiots tell you that.

Curious that my post disappeared.
I believe that one wife is usually emphasized, though Kings like David in the Old Testament had large harems. Some might argue that to be a really devout Christian you can have no wifes but many friends (such as Jesus himself). Though, there has never been much against having as many slave girls as you can modestly afford.

Technically just 1 at a time but you can always get a divorce and get a new one or maybe a mistress or more.
I guess thats the trend nowadays.

Isn't this just more gov't in our lives? Why would it matter how many wives a man has if he is able to take care of them?
The answer is obviously one.
