I go to bed around 9:30pm. I want to be able to get up around 5am or 530am. Right now my alarm goes off at 630am and I am lucky to get out of bed by 715am! Then I am rushing and rushing my 5 year old. I set my alarm for earlier and tell myself to get up but by the time the alarm goes off my bed just feels to darn good and warm. How can I get up earlier and get some things done around the house before I go to work and get too tired to do a lot at 5pm when work is done?!

Also, it is winter and COLD here! So that is why it is so hard to get outta bed, but I NEED to become a morning person and have more energy during the day. Plz help!!

I know what you mean i have a two year old and I am way too tired to do anything as well. i get up at 6:00 am and try to do things around the house but forget about it. I loose track of time and then get upset because I have to leave an unfinished project. Going to bed any earlier will give you a restless night and you make wake up around 4:00 am because I 'v tried it. What i suggest is get things ready at night like clothing lunch etc. and then you can do more things in the morning. but if you are a person like me I hate getting ready the night before because i dress according to the weather, or how I feel. Just try to do different things until you feel comfortable. I know when go home I don't unwind i just start cooking and cleaning and taking car of the two year old. Maybe if I had some help, it sounds like you don't either, maybe if we had help we will be less tired. Good Luck!!!

Good question! I know exactly what you mean!

I used to be married to a morning person, and I was more of a night owl. For one thing, as a young mother, exercise does help bring back some energy. It's hard to find time for, but if you do, it will be worth it. I had to exercise, with some jazzercise right after work, (at first), so I could get motivated to try and get up early.

Then be sure to go to bed at a decent hour. Read a book to help make you sleepy. TV stimulates the mind. You might try a calm nature music tape with ear phones to close your eyes to.

Good luck, and God bless.

Put the alarm clock across the room, put it on an annoying bizz/annoying music. Don't fall back on thinking about when you will next be able to get in bed. This slows people down and distracts them all day. Make a mental note of having energy/being happy in the morning..i HATE getting up, but if i think about being happy and awake..i am!

also

sometimes excersizing early wakes people up well..get up and go for a quick jog..

Try going to bed a little earlier, move the alarm clock across the room so you have to get out of bed to shut it off. Then make sure you don't let yourself get back in bed.

I can sympathize!

This will sound strange- but wear socks when you go to bed. That will help you sleep a bit more soundly and help with the cold. And put the alarm clock somewhere where you HAVE to get up to shut it off.

I don't know if this will help you or not- But somewhere I heard that Melatonin helps with regulating your biological clock. You should be able to find it with the vitamins in your local grocery store, or in your local health store. Look into it.

The biggest thing is to actually train yourself to get up. It won't be instant, but it is doable.

Good luck!

Force yourself to sleep earlier and wake up earlier, and pretty soon your body will be adjusted. I'm sure you've noticed how easy it is to wake up "earlier" in the morning when you have gained an hour from daylight savings time.
