If you think that 80 grams of pasta with different sauce, twice a week and a little piece of bread a day means eating a lot of pasta and bread...and here in northern Italy most men and women are thin. We like having good, healthy food, we don't live to eat.

I don't think pasta is that healthy. The healthy part of Italian diet is lot of fresh veggies, and not too much meat.

I say if you get all of the nutrients in everyday that you need, you should be fine. After that, why not have a small piece of cheescake, or a juicy steak. Mantain a healthy weight, and yearly checkups with a family doctor, and you should be good to go!
