p and r are all posotive and negative numbers exept 0. it would help if you had posted "the following" so the answer that you are looking for can be given. also,they are opposites . Their sum is 0 ex: p=3 and r= -3 then 3+(-3)=0 or (as i was taught to write it) 3-3=0

I love these kinds of questions, but you're missing something here. Where is "the following"? Hard to explain which must be true, when there's nothing to choose from. :(

I can tell you that they are opposites or additive inverses. Their sum is 0. That is p+r=0.

p and r can be any nonzero integers.
