You have to cross mulitiply so multiply 2 with x+2 and multiply 3 with x-1...this is how it will look...

2(x+2)=3(x-1) Now multiply it out

2x+4=3x-3 subtract 2x from both sides

4=x-3 Now add 3 to both sides

7=x

Cross multiply...
2 over (x-1) = 3 over (x+2)
= 3x-3=2x+4
= 3x=2x+7
= 1x=7
= 7

2/(x-1)=3/(x+2)
cross multiply
2(x+2)=3(x-1)
distribute the 2 and 3
2x+4=3x-3
subtract 2x from both sides
4=x-3
add 3 to both sides
7=x
x=7 is your answer

2(x-1)=3/(x+2)
2x-2=x/3+ 3/5

uses distributive property
then simplify

final answer is...
