There are three classifications that answer your question: type of energy emitted, energy of emission and rate of emission. For danger level you need to consider how it affects living tissue and how it can get into the body. The worst emitters are those that throw off alpha particles (2 protons and 2 neutrons). These do the most damage to living tissue. Most transuranics fall into this class. Probably the worst of all is plutonium. it is toxic as well as radioactive. It bonds with the bones and continues to do damage for a long time.
