most people beleive fat people are the jollest and since santa is supose to be jolly thats why and my dad he is santa not the real santa but he goes to the childern in the hospital and goes around town we do it for free its just for the kids young and old like for me im 20 years old but im a kid at heart an't nothing wrong with that ya. im his little um his big helper i tell the little kids i had a growth spert lol

Fat means prosperous. Because he's fat, he doesn't look like he's had a hard day in his entire life. Justifies how cheerful he is.

Apart from the milk and cookies, then probably the climate as well? I guess since it's so cold where he is, he probably wants to do nothing more than stuff his face, drink hot chocolate all the time, or sleep. Hence, fatness.

I don't believe that santa is actually fat....He just has to wear lots of layers to keep warm flying at such high altitudes. Plus, there's no canopy on his sleigh!

no one would believe a skinny bony guy could carry around a huge bag of toys for a whole night. It had to be a big fat guy or a body builder but I guess that was to intimidating for kids

He lives in the North Pole! He needs to be fat to stay warm! His Santa outfit doesn't look too warm in my opinion...where's the parka! His suit looks thin and velvety...should be thick and wooly.
