Yes. I'm an Engineering student, and the triangle is a naturally stable geometry, making it very useful for practical purposes. Also, in mathematics there are some beautiful triangles, such as the equilateral, the isosceles, the 30º60º90º right triangle and my personal favorite, the 3-4-5 right triangle.
The flatiron building in Manhattan at the intersection of 5th, B-way and 23rd is roughly a 3-4-5 triangle.
