I have one answers account. Yahoo gave me the badge. Top contributors are less likely to have multiple profiles I believe.
I know some people give themselves BA through dummy accounts and apart from cheating I think that's also pretty sad. I can't imagine going there. Asking a Q simply to give yourself BA and I saw it for sure 100 percent here many times. I'll never understand. I could maybe if money or a price was involved but these points? Simply don't get it

I have 1 account and have had top contributor status for some time, not that that has any value. You get top contributor status by answering a bunch of questions in the catagory, thats easy. I know some of the top ten contributors have more than one account but they specifically get best answer by looking for old questions with no answers and answer them guaranteeing best answer. Look at Beachbum's, if you can, and you will see many of her Best's are single answer questions. Its interesting that some of the top ten,specifically Suthrnlyts and Brian were deleted due to point gaming and the top contributor is the heavyweight champion of this.

Well, my family is addicted to political debates, so I have two family members who also have an account
My husband.... but he has like 400 points because he is never on.
My son ... who has maybe 1000 points and is not a top contributor and is barely ever on.
All of us have had our accounts for over a year or a year and a half.
That has nothing to do with why I am a top contributor because they never think that I am good for anything anyway:) AKA : THEY NEVER PICK ME.
I think you just need to answer questions and be active. It doesn't take anything special.

I have one other account. It is my main one and I stopped using it on answers due to excessive reporting. I just use this one. Look at peoples profile,people with high percentage of best answers are most likely using more than one account here. I got this top contributor badge when I quit coming here for two weeks. It really means nothing,but it won't go away.

From what I have read, you need to answer a lot of questions, and have just 10% of them be voted as best answer. You can get that percentage with only one account because so many people never choose a best answer. You just vote on your own. No need for more than one account.
Top contributor doesn't necessarily mean a good answerer.
And yes, I just have one account. My goal isn't top contributor, it just happens.

i have one other account to whine at people after they block me
but that is all i use it for....
the way i got top contributor
i was racing chi guy to level 6 we had the same score
so i went and voted on all of my old qs
it gave me like 500 points in 3 days....

The majority of them
Guess their self esteem is so low they need the worthless title of " top contributor" to make them feel important.
And so far two of the multi account people have been offended.
