instinctively put my finger on it to halt the initial leak and halt any further damage, and then i would look for something to plug it with in the close vicinity which i could reach without moving my finger.

Funny how I seem to have a talent for never getting my fill. Plugging the flow would be the furthest thing from my mind..chances are..I would just encourage more flow.
I enjoy seeing the results of allowing nature to take her own course..

most likely my finger would be the object i would choose, or depending on how big the leak and the hole is i might need to use my entire fist.
