ie in comparison to domestic gas fires with a flu, that burn Natural Gas, which can be potentially fatal when toxic, but odourless, fumes escape?
Do fluless type gas fires eliminate the danger of CM fumes escaping?

*UK meaning of the word "gas" - not short for petroleum fuel

Modern approved " vent-free" natural gas or lpg room heaters are fitted with an oxygen depletion sensor. This shuts down the unit well before any carbon monoxide could be produced.
They are safer than a conventional vented heater with a blocked vent or flue.
Vent-free heaters are not approved in some jurisdictions.

Are you talking about vent free natural gas/or propane heaters. We have used one for 25 years with no problems. Also the new ones have a cut off if the carbon monoxide gets higher than it should. The heater will automatically shut itself off. Hope this helps.

Anything that burns a fuel can potentially give off carbon monoxide gas. Only an electric heater would be safe in that respect. If a "fluless gas fire" is an imitation gas fire that uses electric heat, it can't give off CM. But I really don't understand what a "fluless gas fire" is.
