The Santa Claus tradition comes from Nicholas Claus the Bishop of Ulm in Germany hundreds of years ago. This real person was also mixed as time went by with the ancient psuedo-pagan mythical figure of Father Christmas. Nicholas of Ulm used to pass out gifts to poor kids at Christmas from a horse drawn sleigh. He was cannonized (made a saint)after his death by the Catholic church.
Santa Claus is real because he was already declared a saint. Therefore, if he is a saint, he can perform miracles such as giving gifts to a mass number of good children

'Santa' as people view him today is only real in the hearts & minds of children(a belief put there by parents). I believed, until I got old enough to read and to recognize my parents' hand-writing. Many years ago, there was a historical figure, who would put small gifts in the stockings of children. Depending on which culture you research, the legends vary. Some say that toys where forbidden(deemed evil by the prevailing religion of the time), others say the toys were given to poor kids whose families could not buy them. There are many other versions, as well. However, as a Christian I believe people need to focus more on the reason for the season-----Jesus. Yes, I am aware that there are people out there who are not Christains(and therefore don't believe in Jesus), so please don't take offense.

The Santa known today is definitely NOT real. His character is based off of a man named Nicolas who was from Turkey. He used to pass out toys to the poor kids in his village. That was a long time ago and he is definitely not around now.
I recommend buying your kid a present.

santa is real because i did not buy a nintendo wii for christmas and it was for my daughter and it said from santa.
