I have several sewing machines which pull 1.8 AMPS each, can I run several on one circuit ? or will this cause an imbalance in the voltage ?
Thanks,
Steve

What country are you in? Is this an industrial location? Yes, you can put multiple receptacle outlets on one circuit. Yes you must balance your loads on each phase within reason. Any further answer will need more information from you. Are you sure you have 220 volts or is it 240 volts? Depends where you are.

Where are you?
220V. 3 Phase is not a standard voltage in the U.S.,
and a sewing machine at 1.8 A. would probably be single phase.
If you're talking about multiple single phase outlets
connected to a three phase circuit with no additional
overcurrent protection, the answer is no.

Yes, you can. But, what I need to know is, what the hell you sew with a 3 phase,220 volt machine that draws 1.8 amps??
sheetmetal?? I'm assuming that they are single phase motors, but still "a 220 volt sewing machine"?? As long as you balance the loads,ie A/B,A/C,B/C,you should be fine, as long as the breaker handles are tied together, and NOT 3 seperate breakers.

Will the sewing machines be plugged into the same outlet, or will you have 3 different outlets? What is the circuit breaker rated at? Either case there should not be any problem using all three machines at the same time, as long as the total amperage of all three machines (being operated at the same time) does not go over the breaker amount.

you didn't say what voltage and phase the sewing machines are. this information is critical to a good answer.
