1. Identify temparature in Celsius
2. Multiply it by 1.8

Consider that water boils at 212F and 100C, and it freezes at 32F and 0C. Notice that there are 180 degrees F between freezing and boiling, while there are only 100 degrees C; this gives you the multiplication factor of 1.8. Also notice that there is a difference of 32 between the freezing points on the two scales; this gives you the addition on 32.

In other words, there are 1.8 degrees F for each degree C, and the scales are offset by 32 degrees.

The formula is:
ºC/5=(ºF-32)/9.
The temp. scales are organized:
0ºC = -32 ºF 100ºC= 212ºF

if your work with the formula you can deduct the ratio.
