If you suspect it is the washes, try using a different brand of wash. Try finding one specifically for sensitive skin, and/or try some all-natural products which might be less irritating. When you do try a new product, use it for several weeks to make sure it is working (or not working) -- you normally can't tell if a new skin care product is working after only a few days. (If the redness started shortly after you began using the washes, that is probably it -- you are probably allergic to the wash you are using and should find another brand or product!)

You may also be having a reaction to your makeup or another skin care product. If it's makeup, try using mineral makeup -- it is made of all-natural ingredients and is safe for all skintypes. Just beware of drugstore brands like L'Oreal, Almay, etc. because some of them just add minerals to traditional makeup ingredients, negating the health benefits of using minerals! Read the ingredients and make sure it's pure minerals. Also you may want to avoid bismuth oxychloride, which is used in several mineral makeup brands such as Bare Essentials, because many girls are allergic to it and it can cause redness and itching.

Secondly, if it's really bothering you and if you can afford it, see a dermatologist. It may be from something else -- for example, food allergies can cause facial redness. Or if it's the facial washes, the dermatologist may prescribe different acne meds that will get rid of your acne without making your face red.

Finally, if nothing works, just try covering it up with a little makeup! Yellow and green products will cancel out redness, so try a foundation with yellow undertones, or a yellow or green correcting product. Most of my makeup is mineral makeup from Aromaleigh.com, and their Coquille Correcting Powder in Juane and Vert work great for hiding redness -- just apply a little underneath a mineral foundation: http://www.aromaleigh.com/coqilcorpow.html (If you order from Aromaleigh, always order samples first because they don't accept returns!) Or try to find a similar product in another brand -- I know there are others out there. Just make sure any makeup you try is labeled "noncomedogenic" or "won't clog pores" -- makeup labeled "oil free" doesn't contain oils but may contain other pore-clogging ingredients. Also keep in mind that every person's skin reacts differently to different products -- it is possible to break out from a noncomedogenic makeup, although it's less likely.

Good luck and I hope you find something that works!

Well it might be form the washes, even if you have acne don't' use to harsh washes on ur face make sure u use mild face washes, and whatever u do never use soap on ur face, it makes it worst.
You can even use johnssons baby wash i use that it works great, then once a week i use a micderm on my face to peel the first layer of skin but only once a week.

About the redness I have that to on my cheeks though, and i went to the derm doc about ti they have no idea what it is it's form my genes my mom and grandma has it nothing you can really do but (that Hungarian paprika blood), wash ur face regularly everyday in the morning and night. To cover the redness i use a sheer power to cover it very light, don't use foundation that doesn't let ur skin breath and it will make the acne worst.

I'm not aware of any magazine catering solely to "skin", so I can't send you any.

Oh . . . that isn't what you meant by "skin issues"???

You mean, this is just another "zit" question???

Oh, man, did you have me fooled! Wow! ;)
