You can try that. You can also wrap a rag around a stick, pour gasoline on that, light it and hold it to the hive. As long as the flames from the rag surround the whole hive, none of the bees should get out to sting you.

If you have honey bees contact your county extension office (if you are in the US) and ask for the bee inspector's contact information (every county in the USA has a bee inspector). talk to that person about removing the hive. Bees are becoming endangered and any bee keeper will gladly remove the hive of bees.

umm probably not. It will catch the entire tree on fire. Get bee killing spray from the store, and during the day, spray the hive because the bees aren't usually in their hives during the day.

Get one of those propane torches duct tape it to a pole or broom handle. Hole it up and burn them out. they will all fall out. They just get near the flame and wings melt. You can do this during the day. They won't come after you. They will go after the torch. The tree won't light up either. As long as its green. I even do it to those Gypsy moths. Works great.

hive of what????if its honey bees
you dont want to kill them ...they are vital to the enviorment...
call your local bee farmers and they will gladly come and remove it for free just to get the bees....
if its wasps (i dont think they are in trees) ...
setting fire to any tree isnt good for the tree....
i would wait till dark put a strong trash bag around the hive and then cut the branch off with hive intact...
then take it to a field or something (at night) and cut a hole in it so they can get out at daylight...you know its bad juu juu to mess with mothernature
live and let live .................relocating is cool with her!

Do you mean that you have a bees nest and you want ot get rid of it? If so pour gas on it but don't light it. the bees will die and you can remove the nest (make sure you got all of the little boogers first), and then you're done.

I hope you are kidding. Gasoline is far too dangerous to light for any reason. Pay a beekeeper to do it right (and safely). You may even be able to find one who will do it for free, as they may just add your bees to his own.
