Hi.
Unlocked phone means SIM is not locked!
That means that you can use this phne with all network providers (T-Mobile, Vodafone, Verizone, movistar etc).

It's good to buy unlocked cell phone. But there is a one advantage that, LOCKED mobile phones are cheap.

Now tehe is a UNLOCKING technologies, ways. You can buy locked phone, then unlock it only for max. 10-20 dollars using web (programs, unlocking web sites, or ebay simply) but first check if there is a offer in ebay for example unlocking services for your phone. Then buy it, then unlock and you will win money.

Good luck

It means that the company who sold it to you did not put any program in the phones operating system that would prevent you from using the same phone with another service provider.

There is a SIM card inside the phone. If you use another SIM card from another country (lets say you brought the phone with you in your travels) , there will be no problem at all. All you do is put back your home SIM card when you return.

An unlocked cell phone is able to be used by pretty much any cell phone company you want. It is compatible with most any network.
