Do you you think it is because of the destroyed tapes incident by CIA that Scooter Libby has given up his appeal?

Do you think George Bush will grant him a full pardon before he leaves ofice knowing full well what damage this could have for the CIA in this country.

Bush will pardon a lot of people before he leaves office. I suspect he will take the lead of the corrupt Republican governor of Kentucky and give a blanket pardon to everyone in his administration for all crimes committed while in office.

What a lovely concise answer, I wonder how many will care about the simple truth. However I must point out that Bush commuted his sentence, he did not pardon Libby. Libby paid a fine and when they figure out how to put on probation someone who has done no time, well, that will be interesting in this case, they may have to write a new law to cover this event. Libby is still a convicted felon, only a pardon can erase this. Yesterday the President said he would not rule in or out a full pardon for Libby. Libbys contact will assure him a job for life in one of the multiple businesses that owe this administration a favor, his will not be the lot of the average felon, flipping burgers in a place that demands drug tests. And the evil Mark Rich, had Libby as his criminal attorney

The deal has already been done. You can bet the bank on that. Fact: Scooter has given up his appeal because he now knows for sure that Bush will pardon him and there is nothing that can come back to haunt him because of the missing tapes. They're missing for a reason. Fact: George Bush doesn't give a s*** about damage to this country. Just look at his Presidency and the decisions he's made and tell me how much he cares about this country.

Edit: Samantha Stickers-You know what happened to that corrupt Governor in Kentucky. He was defeated by a Democrat.

Libby will be given a full pardon because, otherwise, he will write a book and tell all! He knows all the secrets and could bring down this president and vice-president in a minute, if he is not treated the way he believes he should be.

It is so blatantly obvious that a child could see it. Libby was a full partner in the Iraq Study Group. He knows who ordered the "Fair Game" dirty tricks on a Secret Service Agent. He knows about the manipulation of Intelligence in order to start the Oil Wars. He knows the content of the torture manuals.

The loyal Bush diehards can give excuse after excuse, but the facts speak for themselves. Even Huckabee speaks of the corruption in this Administration and he isn't just whistling Dixie!

I don't think the decision to drop the appeal had anything to do with the CIA tapes being destroyed. As far as granting Libby a pardon, I hope Bush does pardon him, but doubt that he will.

It's not a pardon, it's a commutation. They aren't the same thing.

Bush will ABSOLUTELY grant Libby a full pardon. I firmly believe that was the deal they struck - that Libby would take the fall to cover up Cheney's involvement, and in exchange, Bush would pardon him when he left office.

Mark my words. It will happen.

We all know that Libby will be pardoned by Bush....if Ford could pardon Nixon, then why would any of this be a surprise to any of you? Every president who has ever had this power has used it to pardon those who have given special favors or provided a specific service (such as scapegoat) to the outgoing President. Why does this astonish you?

well bush is a convicted felon, so he probably has a lot of sympathy for his fellow criminals.

but everyone in the entire nation knows full well that bush will leave the mean-ole usa behind when he leaves office and move to saudi arabia - where they understand his kind of thinking.

that way, he will occasionally be able to visit the headquarters of halliburton over in uae...
