No. If I donated to every single bell ringer I pass by on my way into and out of the store, I'm going to need the Salvation Army to donate to ME.

And besides, I don't carry cash on me.

Yes always. During WW11 they were there for the troops all troops coming back from the front. My father was one of them. The Red Cross were there but not for all of the troops, the Americans came first - it was the American Red Cross. They held back food & hot beverages for the Americans - thank heavens the American troops didn't know that because they were fair men doing their best for their country as well. But the Salvation Army was there for all and it didn't matter what army made it back behind the lines. I also contribute what I can during the year as the 'Army' is out there every day and night and try to find shelter for the homeless in all kinds of weather & will even deliver food & beverages to those trying to find shelter & sleep in a carton or under a bridge or garage. They are made of very strong fibre are the Salvationists. Surely stronger than me and if a little money helps their cause I will always support them.

I don't go out of my way to donate to the Salvation Army during the holidays however, if I happen to pass one of the kettles, I will deposit some money.
I donate to the Christmas Cheer board. I also donate to one of our local soup kitchens.
The majority of my donations are made for the benefit of my 87 clients. I try to ensure that they have a merry Christmas.
Finally, I make a substantial donation to World Vision.

No, I donate to them anytime of year that I have stuff I don't want any more. Or I put it on Yahoo! groups freecycle for someone to come pick up. Or, since I live in Utah it's easier to donate to Deseret Industries than to try and find a salvation army around here. I just gave away a kitten and 3 XXL shirts on freecycle!

I donate old clothes and coats and stuff to them all year not just during the holidays. I do it because I dont need the stuff any more and I would like for it to find a good home not a place in a landfill.

Never. The Salvation Army has and is filled with corruption. Millions of dollars have been miss used and not one person has served any prison time for it. They have changed top brass several times with no charges filed for the people responsible for the money stealing.Thank you. okbye.

Yes, but not just at the holidays, I try to do it all year long. I drop off anything that is still useful to them that I'm throwing away or don't want anymore. Then I try and give a dollar or two whenever I see one during the holidays. Its a good thing to do!

not to them I don't like the fact that they resale what you give them same goes for Goodwill. Seriously if that is the case might as well just have a garage sell I would probably sell it for a lot less than they would.

We have Star of Hope that i donate clothes to because they GIVE the clothes to the people that need it.

Cash is given to End Hunger Network

No, because I am very active with my parish's Giving Tree (my family runs it). I also donate to my school through Caring Corners, Operation Christmas, and Sister Saint Nick, so I still do a lot!

Update- Also, I hae donated over 10,000 grains of rice through FreeRice.com, so you should look at that! It's very quick, simple, and free.
