If you have a battery camera can you trade it in at the place you got it for a charging camera?

what if the camera is not brand new but can you trade it in for a certain amount of money and use that to pay for your other camera?

There is no real across the board answer to this. Most retail stores will not take 'trade ins' for cameras, however if the camera is new, never used, the store you purchased it may take it as a return when you buy the new one.
