Why do we use the Christmas tree as part of Christmas decorating and celebrating?

It was used in several cultures in Europe when Christianity was very young. Germanic Tribes had oak trees as sacred symbols connecting heaven and earth, and some Druid Celtic cultures used it as a symbol of fertility.

Actually what he said has some truth. See when the Romans conquered the rest of europe, everybody was a pagan. instead of forcing the pagans to adopt the new religion and customs the romans let them keep alot of there pagan celebrations. I provided a link for a more detailed explanation.

It came from a pagan reglion which worshiped trees.
How did it get into modern socieity? I don't know...
