Just wondering if it is possible to find out exactly who an email is sent from, or where even. And can you stop people from finding out where or who it came from when it is from you

You can open "options", in your email. Then look for where you change to a "full header, instead of the "the header", that you receive normal. The full header will show all the ports the email passed through before it reached your inbox. If there is an IP address, you can copy & paste and use via google and the IP addess will show. Or if you have what I use, SmartWhois, I can obtain the exact address of the IP location.

Guess I don't understand what you are getting at. Both the email addresses are different, and the IP addresses are different and you are asking if it's possible that one computer or one person sent both emails. It's the ISP that determines the IP address, not the computer. Computers are connected to the internet either through a wifi server, or a modem. It's the server or the modem that gets assigned the IP address. In a home or business network situation computers have individual IP addresses, that allows multiple computers to use one network ISP through a hub or router. The IP address you see on an email is the IP address of the ISP servicing that account. The ISP can give you the physical address location of the computer that sent the email, but you would need a court order to see that information. If the person had a laptop, he could send one email from one location, say his home, then go to his buddies house, hook into his internet service and log into a different email account and send the email again. In this case, both the email and IP addresses would be different. He could send one email from home, go to his buddies house, and use his buddies computer, log into a different email account and send the email again. In this case, both email and IP addresses would be different

I suggest this service: http://phonedetectives.co - The best reverse cell phone lookup service.

It's a cheap service that works great! It could be used for a much deeper search. You can use it to get hold of different varieties of background reports, and in addition cell numbers, addresses and names.. you can get unlimited reports... I ran with this because I required to verify more numbers.

You can get the name, other phone number, address history, relatives, and much more about anyone! The completly free reverse phone lookup generally doesn't provide anything interesting. To get interesting information, money will must be paid. The free searches don't provide considerably more than what may be found through the phone directory or personal information and they simply require your email to send spam. The reverse phone detective search tool does work, but you should use just the service that I posted above. The last thing you want to do, is pay for a service and find the numbers you want to lookup are not available in their directory.

The service that I reccomend doesn't have any kind of problem , you won't get any bad surprise! Trust it!

Reverse Phone Lookup area gives you additional access to millions of public records, including:

+ Find out the source of a harassing ("prank") caller
+ Research a number that appeared on your phone bill
+ Locate an old friend from high school or college
+ Research "missed calls" on your caller ID that you don't recognize
+ Verify an address
+ And more...

You CANNOT find the exact location of an IP address. Traceroute will only show you which routers a packet will take from where you're doing the traceroute to the destination IP address. The location of the router is easily discernible, but if the IP address is dynamically allocated, only the ISP knows for certain, so yes, even the FBI needs to approach the ISP to find out who has what IP address at what time.

If the IP address is static and belongs to a company, a whois query may tell you where they're located but whois isn't always accurate.

The most you can do with that IP address is find out which ISP or company owns it and roughly where the last router in the hop is located.

Get a No Cost Background Check Scan at https://bitly.im/aOiBc

Its a sensible way to start. The site allows you to do a no cost scan simply to find out if any sort of data is in existence. A smaller analysis is done without cost. To get a detailed report its a modest payment.

You may not realize how many good reasons there are to try and find out more about the people around you. After all, whether you're talking about new friends, employees, doctors, caretakers for elderly family members, or even significant others, you, as a citizen, have a right to know whether the people you surround yourself with are who they say they are. This goes double in any situation that involves your children, which not only includes teachers and babysitters, but also scout masters, little league coaches and others. Bottom line, if you want to find out more about someone, you should perform a background check.

The absolutely free reverse email lookup sites generally provide false information, they just want your email to send you spam. To get real information, money will have to be paid.

Also, stay away from shady reverse email lookup sites, most likely you won't get any information after you make the payment. Not to mention you won't get a report and you won't get an answer if you try to call for a refund. Stick with a reputable reverse phone lookup site like http://www.emailtracer.org that has been around since 1997.

The best reverse cell phone lookup service that I have tried is http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=538

From using a reverse cell phone lookup you will be able to get the callers name and address just by typing the phone numbers they will tell you the details related to the number. The reverse cell phone lookup service has your details available they will give you the cell phones location. For a full report including a name and address and other interesting informations you will have to pay. All reverse cell phone lookup services charge for the information as it is a contract bind between the mobile company and themselves, where they pay for the info. Enter the number in the system and they will tell you a lot of informations about the phone number and the person who owns it. If they have extra details you will have to pay for the report. If you only want to reverse lookup one cell phone or land-line phone number you will be charged about $15 but if you need to reverse lookup more than one phone or cell phone number you can get a years access to their database.

Free reverse phone lookup sites generally provide the most basic of information such as name and it works only for landlines. To get further information, money will have to be paid. The free searches do not provide much more than what can be found through the phone book.

This service is great, I used it a lot f time with great results: I always obtained what I was searching for. I definitly reccomend this service, check it out: http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=538

Crack open the header.
To do that in MOZILLA THUNDERBIRD, either go to:
VIEW > Message Source
or use the shortcut key: CTRL-U

To trace / report spam e-mail I always use http://spamcop.net which has never failed to trace the buggers yet.

Here's an article I've just found that should also help:
http://www.johnru.com/active-whois/trace-email.html

To trace IP Addresses, there's a tool you can add to your iGOOGLE personalised homepage @ GOOGLE.com
or also try http://samspade.org
Or if you want something with MORE POWER.... check out a piece of software called NEOTRACE
http://www.networkingfiles.com/neotrace/ - which apparently the exact same software used by the FBI for tracing them (or at least was... not sure if they still do)
