I have been using hotmail as my primary email account for years and never had a problem until now. Some of my friends try to email me and are blocked, I did'nt block them. I unblocked them by following the instructions in the help section of hotmail and changed my password. I did this 3 times and my friends are still blocked out and my password keeps going back to the original. How do I fix this?

You are not saving the changes to your new password and hotmail is probably blocking your pal, for your safety the security system most likely detected a virus or bug on your Pal's end. Unless you are being hacked which is very very unlikely...don't jump to conclusions, a lot people like to give advice about computers even when they don't know what they are talkin 'bout. Tell your friends to scan their computer for a virus.

I am quite sure that you system has been "hacked". You need to run your antivirus program and antispyware to see if anything is found. (Not that it will make much of a difference, being you have already been hacked).

Best that you open a new hotmail account. I know this is a pain in the "you know what", but it is important to have an new account and change your password often.

If you bank or use your credit card on hotmail, I suggest that you make a personal visit to your bank and advise them of this problem and check your account to make sure that all of your money is accurate and your credit card has no usages that you did not make. (You will be held responsible if you don't check with the bank and advise them of this situation).

You can also advise your local police dept., They usually have one or more forensic computer experts to check out your pc. They have the tools to find hou hacked into your email account.

The other less obvious answer is that Hotmail is blocking the domain from where your friend's are sending you email. Hotmail does blacklist domains and IP addresses that spam their users. This would prevent that IP or domain from emailing anyone with a hotmail account, not just you specifically. The answer is in the bounce-error message your friends are receiving. Tell them to Google the error message if it isn't obvious.

rigor01 is probably right on target. Hotmail is blocking the domain from where your friend's are sending you email. Hotmail does blacklist domains and IP addresses that spam their users. OR If your friends computer has a virus on it, Hotmail's security system will detect the virus and block the sender from emailing you for your protection.

Your system may have been hacked.
You may have a "Trojan" virus on your computer that records your passwords etc, thus giving the "Hacker" all he needs to change your password and do as he pleases with your account.
Run a up todate Virus software and remove the "Trojan".
Also if you have used a credit card check your account as the "Hacker" may have your details now...once clean do a monthly check just to keep it away and beware of emails with links...
