square root of 20 = (square root of 4) * (square root of 5)
The square root of 4 is 2, so this is 2 * square root of 5
square root of 45 = (square root of 9) * (square root of 5)
The square root of 9 is 3, so this is 3 * square root of 5
(2 * square root of 5) - (square root of 5) + (3 * square root of 5) = (4 * square root of 5)

for square roots, I'm going to use the $ sign, just because I don't feel like finding that symbol.so ($20) means the square root of 20 I hope you can follow.
($20) = $4)($5) = 2($5)
and
($45)=($9)($5) = 3($5)
so
($20) - ($5) +($45)
equals
2($5) - ($5) + 3($5)
or
($5)(2-1+3) = 4($5)
so the answer would be 6($5)
or you could make it
4($5) = ($16)($5) = ($80)
or the square root of 80

Here it is one step at a time 4√20 - 3√45 = 4√(2 x 2 x 5) - 3√(3 x 3 x 5) = 4 x 2√5 - 3 x 3√5 = 8√5 - 9√5 = -√5

12√5.
I did this by breaking down the terms into terms we can actually work with.
Try to think of √20 as "4 *√5" (because 4 times 5=20.)
Now know that √5 can be 1*√5.
Finally, √45, in other words, is 9*√5.
So now we have 4√5 - 1√5 + 9√5, or 4 -1+ 9. The order of operations states that the answer to which is 12. Then you just throw the √5 back in.
So, 12√5.

Square Root 20 - Square Root 5 + Square Root 45
Square root of 20 can be broken down to
2 square root of 5
Square root of 5 cannot be reduced
Square root of five can be broken down to
3 square root of 5
Now you have 2 square root of 5 - square root of 5 + 3 square root of 5
Giving an answer of
4 square root of 5
However, if you just plug square root 20 - square root 5 + square root 45 into the calculator, you would get 4.071642754
If you put 4 square root of 5 into the calculator, you would get
8.94427191
So I don't know :O
Sorry, if I didn't help much

4*5=20
9*5=45
notice how 4 and 9 are at the left hand side. it is much easier to find the square root and leave square root of 5 at the right hand side. so
square root of 4 is 2 and square root of 9 is 3, therefore
2root5 -1root5 + 3root 5=
2-1+3root5=
1+3root5=
4root5

on the calculator, there is a sqare root button which sort of looks like a tick. type the number in then press the sqare root button. it will then give you the square root of that number.
The answer to your question.
the square root of 20 is 4.472135955 but just round it to 4.47
the square root of 5 is 2.236067978 but again just round it to 2.23
the square root of 45 is 6.708203933 but again round it to just 6.70.
so then you do 4.47 - 2.23 + 6.70 = 8.94
I think thats right LOL
