My husband and I do have a 'rental account' and we will rent movies if we don't know that we want to own them. We also have a Columbia account that we buy DVDs from (online, but they also send us the 'mail catalogues' and I enjoy looking through those) ... and I am going to have to 'rearrange' our CD and DVD collection today or tomorrow because we now have so many good DVDs ... I have another 'rack' I can store the CDs in, so the DVD/CD rack can hold just DVDs ... it's HUGE (4' tall by 3' wide) and it's getting FULL ... so we'll have to look for a 'larger' rack sometime soon ... but NO LATER than March 2008. We LOVE our DVDs because sometimes there's nothing 'good' on regular TV, and we can watch the 'movies' and the 'series' we have then. Our three favorites are Monk (I have all five seasons that are out), the 'new' Dr. Who (we have all three seasons), and The Dresden Files (I hope the come out with more soon ... right now we have only the 'first season' set) ...
I won't tell you the name of the place where we rent our DVDs because it's an 'independant' shop and the name would be meaningless unless you lived in our neighborhood.

I usually just buy them. Best buy is my fav store, so that makes things easy. But if we really want to rent something, my mom works for the county library system (which is pretty big) and she just calls down to the circulation desk in A/V and puts it on hold till she leaves for the day. They usually get some new stuff pretty quickly too. Maybe just two or three weeks after it comes out.

If we watch a movie, we usually rent from Blockbuster, but that's a rarity, maybe once or two times a year or so.

Blockbuster Online. You 3 movies, then return them at an Blockbuster for 3 more movies. Then they will send your movies back to Blockbuster Online Store and once they get it, they will send you 3 more. Awesome!!!

I rent them off of Comcast's movies on demand...I dont have to return anything and there is a HUGE selection in which most videos are free unless they are new releases.
