Those who call it keeping score and don't want to are the ones who know they have it made and don't want attention called to their good deal.

Well when I was married, I did most of the housework even when I worked full time and she stayed home. When I stopped working and went back to college, I did all the housework and attended classes (including taking care of my son) and she worked outside the house. She never did much, put the clothes in the wash sometimes but I almost always had to fold the damn things etc etc etc. When my son was 3/4 he used to get up in the morning, go downstairs, get a chair, get on the counter and then wash dishes- he loved it and amazingly I only had to wash one or two over in a years time (and I am fussy) now I cant get him to do much at all- little punk.
Anyways, I think if both people work then there should be relatively even chore break up but I think the type of work each does needs to be considered and dont be like most woman and insist that he does nothing when he shovels/plows the driveway alone all winter, mows the lawn and does all the other outside stuff.
Being a single dad, I do it all while my new wife- I mean son- sits on the couch asking for a drink- just playing sort of

My husband works full time and I stay home with the kids. He does the yard work and is very good at his job, I do all the housework and childcare. It's 50/50 when you look at it, just in different areas. He will help me in the house if the job I'm doing is really hard, like lifting sometihng too heavy or whatever.
Sometimes in the summer I mow the lawn for the exercise!

We as a married couple do not split the work we
share the work. If she mops, I sweep, if she dusts
I help, we both clean the windows, we both cook
we both iron one time she does it and the other
time I do. She even helps outside and cuts the
grass as it helps her keep in shape. We both are
retired and we both get involved in anything that
needs to be maintained as far home goes.

The word faily is up to interpitation. I mean what seems fair to me may not to you. For example Both my husband and I work full time, we have a one year old, I go to school full time and do all the housework inside and out with exception of the dishes. He does the dishes. That is fair for us! However a\everyone elses usually says that is completely un fair. It works for us though. I ask him to do the one thing that I absolutely despise doing.....he agreed and I do the rest.

yea we split the housework

Ok first off there is no such thing as man's chores or woman's work

My Bf and i split it down the middle i do what i can and he does the rest

man and woman's work are nothing but sexist ideas

My husband works, I stay home with the kids. So I do most of the housework he helps out with somethings. We don't really have a system though.

I really don't like the idea of men's and women's chores. I never even had to discuss that with my husband. We enjoy cooking together, we to laundry together, we take turns with the dishes, whoever sees that the trash is full takes it out, etc. and it really works for us. Its never been something we've had to talk about and it works out well :)

We split it all fairly.

I'm not working right now so I do all the housework, shopping, laundry, cooking, etc....he does all the yard work, trash, taking care of the cars etc.

When I'm also working we do all of it together....pretty much 50-50.

Never mapped out a plan...nor kept score. We do what needs doing, without being asked. It's a great system actually :)
