YES!! I had a horrible labor and was sent to another hospital an hour a way, and my son was not allowed to go with me. He was bottle fed for the first two weeks of his life. After I got off the medicine and was able to breastfeed I did. Just make sure your milk hasn't dried up already, which it shouldn't have since it's only been a week. Good Luck!! Congrats!!

Yes you can still breast feed this early. It may take a little effort on your part though. I have no advice on accomplishing this cause I never had to do it. But I do know you can switch this early in the game but if your sure do it now cause they will have more difficult time latching on the older they get. If you baby is only one week, you should still be lactating. I formula fed and lactated for up to 5 weeks.Good luck.

It depends on your body, and the baby. If you milk has not dried up yet you may still be able to start. It might be difficult at first, but if you really want to give it a go, I say try it. Also your son might already be used to the bottle. Breast feeding is more work for him than bottle feeding. He may not want to put in the effort for the breast milk. It really would just depend on his personality. I say, give it a try. He may really take to it. Also, talk to your doctor to let him/her know the situation. They might have some tips or recomendations.

Sure! It would be best to contact a certified lactation consultant or La Leche League leader for help, as there is likely to be a bit of a learning curve. The basic idea is to get your son to latch on correctly, and then nurse him often to get your milk supply established.
This site has lots of good breastfeeding info:

As long as you are still making milk. You may have to supplement with formula until you have adequate amounts of milk though. Breastfeeding is a wonderful thing to do though so congrats and good luck!

It might be a bit difficult if your baby has a preference for the bottle. Your supply should still be available. Consult a lactation consultant on what's best. Try bringing your baby to your breast and see if he will latch on. Chances are he might, but he might also have nipple confusion already, which is why you should contact an LC. It is still possible! Good for you for thinking about it. You should also try to pump for now to increase your supply.

If you still have a supply or want a supply you can work at pumping even if they never latch.

no reason not to. If you are still producing breast milk go right ahead, but cut out the formula.
