Why exactly would you want to see him shot? For perjury? For using steroids?
That might be a TAD bit harsh, don't you think?
Perjury is a victim less crime.

In a high visibility case like this he will do some time if found guilty. However, Bonds will have some of the best lawyers available and I don't believe it will be a "slam dunk" for the prosecution. By the way, where do you come up with that 10 year number?, Martha Stewart got a few months for lying to a grand jury

If it is proven that he did lie under oath then he should go to jail just like anyone who lies under oath. The problem is proving that he did lie under oath, proving that he did knowingly take a substance...that is a pretty hard burden and look at how long it took to indict him. The witness list is a list of who' who in the convicted felon arena, not a very convincing list for a judge to look at. If he is in fact convicted of lying he should have to do the time that is mandated for perjury which is no more that 2 years.

Barry should not spend any jailtime for perjury. He did not lie to the public..... Only to the grand jury because in all interviews that were granted, he sidestepped the topic and did not say anything about drug use.
If there is a crime, it was when he applied the substances to his body, which we should not even care about because he's only harming himself.
People here that are judging Barry for lying to the grand jury and harming himself are just busybodies because I don't see any of the other "users" joining the 500 hr. club or earning the Cy Young award..... Barry had talent and strength to begin with and just "supplemented" it with a little "extra", which is not a crime, because almost everyone in that league did it. I'd love watching baseball with HR's otherwise it would be plain dull.....

I agree and think he WILL be and should be.
Martha Stuart lied and went to jail, as will Barry Bonds. I doubt he'll get more than 2 years though. Perjury is serious, but not 10 years serious.

Well he did lie under oath and that is a very bad thing to do. Well realistically he should go to jail but you have to remember that his jury will come form the San Fransisco area and you know they will say he is Innocent.

this whole case is stupid. the government is suppose to take down the drug lords (Noriega, Frank Lucas, BALCO) not the users (Barry Bonds, the crackhead on the corner).
they already got Victor Conte and Greg Anderson, why go after Bonds? and why did it take them 4yrs to indict Bonds?

He should, and Big Mac, Sosa and Palmiero too.
By the way perjury to a Federal Jury is a huge no-no, so in my opinion, it is important to stand up to any case where someone lies to them.

Sit back and let our justice system handle this (that's what it's there for). Also, unfortunately for you, the predictions I've heard is that if he is convicated he's looking at about 2 years.
