question about discrimination?

I was reading up on discrimination and stereotyping and was wondering, as a 4th or 5th generation italian-american, whether anyone knows of, or has experienced discrimination against italian-americans in either workplace or community settings; i know that crude stereotypes of italian-americans still persist, many centering around the culturally constructed image of the mafioso; yet, besides these, does discrimination exist anywhere in the united states, to any significant extent, against italians?

I dont know anything bad about being a Italians except that they are just mafia. in a good way lol

Listen, it dosent matter where you go, but someone always has a grudge or something to say about someone who is different than themselves. Im sure that there is some fool out there with some problem with Italian Americans... however, these are not people to have in your life anyway, so with your respect for all that is different, you can help lead the trend towards acceptance of others. Discrimination on the basis of thoughts,colour,religion belief,race,gender is found in many parts of America but this is very exceptional and can be termed the acts of individuals.

IN THE 1890 AS IMMIGRANTS CAME TO AMERICA, THERE WERE GHETTOS OF WHITES (ITALIAN, IRISH, SCOTCH, GERMAN ETC.) ALL SETTLED IN CLUSTERS AS A RACE OF ETHNICITY.

GANGS WERE FORMED AND ALLEGIANCES TO THOSE GANGS TO PROTECT THEIR COMMUNITY.

SINCE THE 1920'S MOST OF THE OLD GANGS OR SOCIAL DISTRICTS HAVE MOVED TO THE INNER CITIES AND OTHER STATES OF THIS UNITED STATES

SINCE THE 70'S MOST OF THE ITALIANS AND OTHER GROUPS HAVE INTEGRATED INTO MAINSTREAM SOCIETY.
