Rubbing Alcohol Jock Itch

2016-11-12 03:00:18 · answer #2 · answered by winbush 4 · 0 0

Rubbing alcohol cured my jock itch in one day, it was amazing! I could not get rid of it using Lotramin twice a day. I was so frustrated and was about to look up a doctor to help when I ran across a forum that recommended rubbing alcohol. I dabbed it on with Kleenex and it felt so good the first time as the itch stopped immediately. Within a day it was completely gone!

It's a bad idea. Rubbing alcohol will definitely kill all the bacteria. However, jockitch is caused by a fungal infection (fungus). Bacteria and Fungus are in constant battle, especially in the human body. If you remove bacteria, you no longer keep fungus in check.

I would suggest buying an expensive OTC cream at a drug store. Also, use tea tree oil, which is menthol and is nice while you sleep. Try to keep the area open to air (in private not public) to keep it dry. If nothing works, I would suggest going to the doctor and getting cyclopirox. But, I found that an anti-jock itch cream and tea tree oil works wonders. Also, use the gold-bond, which should be a daily routine.

Oh my god that will burn. Try an antifungal cream designed for jock itch or some cortisone cream to alleviate any itching or burning. See you doc if it won't go away. They have prescription creams and powders that can help.

That probably wouldn't be a real good idea. Though it would minimize your concern about your jock itch.

can't say I have and I just can't imagine why anyone would. It's a fungus alcohol won't do anything but dry your skin out and make you itch more. Get some fungus cream.
