Here's my original post on the percent increase in inflation adjusted GDP over four year terms.

Some con came up with his own data, but he did not provide any source. Being someone who relies on facts instead of faith, I went out to look for inflation adjusted GDP per capita. That is inflation adjusted GDP divided by the population at the time.

I then took the percent increase over four year terms and ranked them. This is what I got. The supply siders ranked 8th, 10th, and 15th out of (((18)))) four year terms.

FDR (40') 73.46
FDR (32') 31.26
LBJ (64') 16.77
FDR (36') 15.79
Truman (48') 13.54
JFK (60') 12.86
Clinton (96') 12.51
Reagan (84') 11.87
Carter (76') 8.85
Reagan (80') 8.52
Clinton (92') 8.10
Nixon (68') 7.07
Ford (72') 6.40
IKE (52') 5.58
Bush Jr (00') 4.52
Bush Sr (88') 3.71
IKE (56') 3.10
TRU/FDR (44') -17.26

captaino,

You have no source. I took the percent increase in inflation adjusted GDP over four year terms.

What exactly are you showing me and where is your source?

EXAMPLE CALCULATION
1940 $7837 in inflation adjusted dollars
1944 $13594 in inflation adjusted dollars

PERCENT INCREASE = (13594/7837-1)*100 = 73.46%

captaino,

How exactly did you get 25.52 for FDR for 41'?

You must not be looking at real inflation adjusted numbers. Also, you start counting around the time the president takes office. FDR accomplished many things in his first 100 days.

captaino,

Same thing and you still have not shown me a sample calculation. How did you get 25.52% for FDR in 41?

((101-100)/100 )x 100% = 1%

(101/100 - 1)*100% = 1%

captaino,

9,098 is the NEW VALUE, not the ORIGINAL VALUE. You should be dividing by the smaller number.

It is you who is wrong.

Yep. ALL THE FACTS.

GDP per capita ( a more relevant number) shows a little something different.

FDR 25.52 (41)
FDR 21.21 (37)
FDR 20.51 (45)
Reagan 11.96 (85)
LBJ 11.10 (67)
Truman 10.57 (53)
Nixon 9.98 (73)
Reagan 7.78 (89)
Ford 7.44 (77)
Clinton 6.71 (97)
Bush 6.02 (05)
Ike 6.00 (61)
Clinton 5.22 (01)
Ike 5.11 (57)
JFK 2.79 (63)
Carter 2.09 (81)
Bush 1.68 (93)
Truman -3.21(49)

Ofcourse these numbers still dont prove anything but the fact that statistics lie and liers use statistics.

The American economy is like turning an aircraft carrier very slow and wide. You seem to think it turns like a row boat.
