You know what, I had never understood this saying up until now, when I dedicated some time to it. I used to think like you, what the hell was I to do with cake? Eat it, obviously! But now I see it means that you have two choices: either you save it or you eat it; you can't have both, meaning that after you eat it, it's gone. Got it? Option 1: save it (having it); Option 2: eat it - you can't have both, which is the whole point of the saying. Now we know, and knowing is half the battle! =D

You are exactly right. What are you going to do with it?
Feed it to your dog?? Or maybe feed to someone you don't like so they can get a stomach ache and they won't bother you anymore, or you could have food fights with it. Smear the frosting on your face for a beauty pack.
