Subnets are quite complex to set up. For a small home network you do not want to use subnets, as this requires multiple routing to get all the machines to reach the internet.

Generally for a home network this is not needed. A subnet will help to secure the larger network by keeping traffic in only one part of the network. Thisis a good thing on a campus or larger work place. I would secure your wireless network with a password. You can do this when you install your wireless router this way if you live in an apartment or condo you will not have neighbors using your service.

subnetting is a layer 3, IP networking (i.e. routing) function. Wireless is at layer 2/1.

You don't "subnet" the wireless, you subnet the IP network on top of the wireless network.
