Mine:
My Dad was my Hero, I loved him more than life and he could do anything. When I lefthome young and married the first year he got me a beautiful tree shaped dish with colored christams decorations inside. I cried and we held each other and he asked me if it was an ok gift. Just something that touched my heart, and a memory to share. He has been gone so long. I was so young when i lost him and life without parents is so hard!!!!!!

i have a doughter. she is 7 and she is a daddys girl big time. i hope she feels the same about me when she grows up as you did your dad. i feel bad for you about your father. i am sorry for your lose. my parents are in there mid 60's and im in my mid 30's. i dont think i am read for them to go yet. i feel i still need them. when i was married it was not as bad becouse there was some one els there with me all the time. but that is gone now so i feel more like it would be harder to see them go. just keep your faith, there is a father up there watching you. he loves you to. good luck to you.

You made me cry! Such a sweet, but simple memory!

When I was a little kid my grandparents would take turns coming to our house for Christmas. On Christmas morning the whole family (my grandparents, parents, brother, sister and I) would line up at the top of the steps waiting to go down to open gifts. Tradition was that the first to go down was the oldest and then next oldest, etc. That meant I was ALWAYS last. I was about 8 when it hit me that I would NEVER get to go first and I started to cry because I was last again. My Granddad (a wonderful old English gent) stopped the procession and without a word went back up and got me and carried me down with him. I felt SO special. He was like that!

Thanks for letting me share!

I am sorry for your loss... the day I lose my Daddy will be one very dark and dreaded day..he is my best friend.

My favorite Christmas memory is when me and my 2 brothers were all still at home (they are much, much older than me... 8 years and 11 years older) and our parents would make us wait upstairs until they were ready for us to come down. We would sit at the top of the stairs with our slippers, pjs, and blankets all huddled together until they called us to come down. It was like the house was falling down when we all thundered down the stairs to see the stacks of presents everywhere! It was such a blast... my brothers left home when I was very young, so having us all together at Christmas is my most cherished memory.

We adopted our son when he was 18 months old (25 now). His very first Christmas with us is one that we will never forget and cherish forever. My day had only one short Christmas with my son, he passed 4 months after that. Time never heels the loss of a dear loved one.

you know how you watch those christmas movies and the guy and the girl want "love" for christmas but things get in the way. and then on christmas eve or day the two fight everything that comes between them and they end up together??? ok that's never happened to me! lol....BUT not as an adult. wish it would it'd be romantic. but when i was in the 6th grade my crush received my secret santa gift and without my name on it he told his friend who told my best friend that he wished it was from me. and i told my frient to tell his friend that it was. it was a Tears for Fears tape. (a little gadget with audio tape inside...goes in a tape recorder....never mind, hard to explain to you youngins lol) so on christmas vacation, christmas eve DAY (that never made sense to call the day eve...anyway i digress) he rode on his bike to tell me he liked me and i got my first kiss right there on the front yard. this is a big story in my family. not that it was my first kiss but the scene my baby sister displayed as she screamed holy terror because she thought he was going to take me away and marry me....she was only 2, i was 12.
NOW that is a christmas memory. The End
and GOD BLESS US EVERYONE!!
and MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!

Putting the Christmas tree together with my dad - it was a tradition every year.

The Christmas my daughter got a Barbie house and I was as excited or more than she was about it.
