a very fertile time for a women? my husband and i had sex last night unprotected and used the extremely unreliable "pull out" method. i'm just wondering if right after your period is a more fertile time. i think i'm going to start ovulating sometime today. also this part i'm just curious about. can women get pregnant when they're not ovulating? someone said something about being able to get pregnant at any time, like when not ovulating, on period, etc. is that false or is there a lot of truth to that?

You pretty much need to ovulate to get pregnant, but that can happen at any time during your cycle, including when you're having your period.

You can get pregnant at any point in your cycle, but some times are statistically more likely than others. There is no time that has a guarantee that you won't get pregnant.

No it's not. You ovulate about 2 weeks after the first day of your period, so your fertile time is 5 days before ovulation (sperm can live 5 day) up until the day afterwards (the egg is good for 24 hours)

Sperm can stay alive in your body for up to 5 days, therefore when you do ovulate you can get pregnant from the previous fertilization. You can get pregnant at anytime just b/c you never really know when you're going to ovulate or how long the sperm will live in your body. But yes, you must eventually ovulate to get pregnant.

No, it's usually not the most fertile time. Two weeks after you begin your period is normally when you ovulate. Go to www.babycenter.com and click "Tools" and then "Ovulation Calculator" and it will help you find the day you ovulate.
Also, check your cervical mucus. If you are fertile it will be an eggwhite, very stretchy, and moist mucus.

It is alot more likely when you are ovulating, since you and your husband are trying to conceive I would suggest going to your drug store and picking up an ovulation kit, it will tell you the best times to have sex for conception, and if you can try not to have hubby " release" for two days before so that his sperm count is way up... Good Luck!

Its true. You can get pregnant whether you are on your period or any other time of the month. Usually you are more fertile a week before you period

Yes, you can get pregnant anytime! Which is why the world is over populating, because all of these women THINK they're not going to get pregnant! (when you're ovulating, there's a BETTER chance of you getting knocked up).
I see I have a low rating, but if people were more educated on this stuff, they'd know that PROTECTION should be considered (although it's not 100% guarantee).

Well if you are on you're period you are releasing your egg that you didn't use before so its getting rid of the egg so there is very little chance you might be pregnant because its already getting rid of it so i would say you are definatly not. man you are lucky atleast you are already married so if you have a kid no big deal!!

its not likely that you are feritle two days after you ended your period.. you usually ovulate around 10 days to 14 days after they have ended their period... but it is possible you can still get pregnant.
