The U.S. flag or the bible.

I wonder how many will answer correctly.

Explain why?

Both are mass produced and easily covered by insurance. It's best to save something rare.

A bible is more than just the paper it's written on and a flag is more than just fabric therefor the destruction of the fabric or paper is a trivial matter.

As long as the concept symbolized by the flag or the information in the bible is still available the loss of a single object is inconsequential.

If forced to the absolute choice for rhetorical reasons I'd take the flag since it can folded, placed over the mouth and used as smoke and ash mask in an emergency.
