This could be interesting. Let's see where the left and the right really stand on this issue. The left, just like the right, is a heterogeneous group that does not necessarily move in lock-step with regard to all issues. I bet this will end up being more of a male vs. female issue...

I will vote either for the BNP or UKIP at the next general election.
As far as dog fighting is concerned it is barbaric and anyone engaging an animal in such practices should be jailed. My dog Benjamin is almost human and the thought of anyone harming him would seriously upset me.

If you mean ATTENDING a dog fight, I think the person is depraved and if caught, perhaps fined.
IF you mean BREEDING dogs for fighting, their dogs should be taken away forever and a heavier fine levied.
If you mean TORTURING dogs that don't fight well, they should serve some jail time...say up to a year.
If you mean PUTTING ON a dog fight, I think the person should serve jail time...again up to a year.
If you mean running a FORMAL BETTING RING on dog fighting, they should serve jail time...more than a year.

inde male - against dog fighting AND the horrid things that seem to always accompany dog fighting.
things like - driving around neighborhoods and dognapping family pets.
sometimes you have to make things illegal just because of the kind of people who are drawn to those things.
what kind of person would steal a kids dog so that they could literally feed it to help train their 'fighting' dog to have a killer instinct?
and i would also challenge you to find any men or women in any part of the nation with any affiliation that wouldn't be blood angry about their cherished pets being stolen from them for such a purpose.
whether it's hunting dogs or just pets - we love our dogs - steal a man's hunting dogs for blood sport and you're likely to end up being hunted yourself.

Liberal; have voted mainly Democrat.
VERY against dogfighting. It is a pitiful and cruel "sport" for "men" who can't prove themselves in any way whatsoever.
I support the laws which make it a felony to dogfight.
(To the above poster: In NC, where I live and who I know, dog fighting is certainly NOT popular.)

White 25 year old conservative female...I own a wonderful pitbull mix and I am disgusted by what dogs like mine are put through, the laws need to be tougher!!!!!

I am a white,female, conservative, Christian. I usually vote Republican. Dog fighting laws need to be much stricter and more carefully enforced.
