No ... I wouldn't risk it ... but I do have a funny memory about that exact thing. One year my brother and step mom decided to try this because it was El Nino here in CA and it had been raining/drizzlnig for 2 weeks straight. My little brother was a trouble maker and always in trouble so when they decided to do this they made sure he wasn't home. In the midst of the hanging the lights my little brother rode up on his bike so my step mom sternly tells him to stay away from the cords and DO NOT touch them.
About 5 minutes later a bulb broke and so my other brother reaches into the socket to remove the base of the bulb with metal pliers while standing on a metal ladder in the rain. At that EXACT moment my little brother picked up the plug in the garage and plugged in the lights. For all of my life, I will never be albe to explain how completely scary and also hilarious this all was in a brief 2 seconds. My brothers hair was longer and all at once he was thrown from the ladder while all his hair was standing completely up on end and he got the shock of his life.
My little brother got THE spanking of his life! LOL And we have a family story that cracks us up to this day. Although we have many of those... growing up with 6 brothers you can imagine, but this is definitely a favorite! ha ha!

Yep! And it was starting to freeze.
At least my husband did the 2nd story, I wasn't getting up there with wind and rain and ice.
