from middel to the north a lot of rain, sometimes snow in the upper mountains. at the coast its rainy and windy. temp. about 55 - 75º F

in the south and specially at the southern coastline its warmer, not so much wind and much less rain. Temp. are 65 - 80ºF

Usually, winters in Portugal have rain but are not very cold. Except for very excepcional years, it only snows in the mountains (above 1.000 meters) and highlands of the northeast, and maximum temperature usually is above 0ºC (32ºF). Minimum temperatures (during the night and morning) reach values below 0º C in some regions. Coastal areas are warmer and more rainy than more interior regions. The temperatures also raises from North to South (south being warmer). In Lisbon in a normal winter day expect maximum temperatures around 10ºC (50ºF).
Unfortunetly, due to climate change and also to the natural random nature of mediterranean climates, we're having more often dry and warm winters with sudden drops in temperature. You may be able to wear only a t-shirt one day (during the warm part of the day of course) and the next day wake-up with almost freezing temperatures...This year whe're having such a hot automn, that you could go to the beach (and bade) even in November!

im in portugal now. center of the country. near Coimbra.
it was a very nice springlike day and its a bit chilly now (its 11pm)
normally, when winter really comes its cold as hell. rain, wind, snow!
but nowadays, with the climate changes... we were in the beach just last month, so who knows?

if your thinking of coming here, i advice u too check the weather forecast just before u come... and dont trust it! lol
