Historically and biologically, we are an integral part of the Animal Kingdom. As a strategy for survival, Man took to eating dead carcass at first and later started killing other animals for meat. Perhaps he was inspired to do so by witnessing the carnivores at that time.It is stated that there would not be enough food to go around for everyone if the whole human race turned up to be vegeterians and meat helps feed the hungry mouths of the ever expanding human population. Killing animals for food may appear to be cruel but the vegetables themselves are also forms of life and eating them would appear to be equally appaling to someone else ! It is time we started seriously considering reducing the human population of the world to half.
So long as you do not chase endangered or critically listed animals, birds, or other life forms and so long as the very killing is sudden, swift, sure and humane to the extent possible, I think meat-eating may be left to the individual's choice and taste and health requirements and limitations.

The evolution of humans was aided by the eating of meat. Eating soley tough plants required very large and thick jaw muscles. With the advent of meat, the muscles were able to decrease, leaving room for the brain to expand.

Also, one think you might want to consider, if everyone stopped eating meat, these animals you love would become extinct. Humans would have to further use to breed them, and since they are domesticated, they can't live in the wild, even if you could find room for them anywhere.

Well then either you or your God is a hypocrite. If you read your Bible you will clearly see that Man has domain over all. That domain includes the consumption of animals as meat. Same goes for killing, anything.

Animals, collectively do not feel pain as people do. We are intelligent and have a highly complex neurological system.

Your food preferences should be a personal choice. Why go looking for a justification. Why try to include religion or God as a factor in what you eat. If you wanna be a Hindi, simply adopt their philosophy and live it.

I respect vegetarians, as I am a true animal lover.
That being said, most humans eat meat. We evolved as a species to eat meat.... we've been doing it for thousands of years.
I don't eat meat that my father-in-law brings home from hunting (deer, moose and caribou) because I think enough animals are killed already to supply the grocery stores.
However, in the area where I live, if there was not the popular annual deer hunt, the deer population would grow too much too fast, and then there would not be enough food for them in the winter. Also, nature has a way of taking care of overpopulation by disease. One year, the deer got this terrible disease that affected their nervous system. It was terrible. That does not happen anymore now that they have upped the limit for hunting.

We don't need meat to survive. I don't judge people who eat meat nor do I desire to hurt the meat eaters or the meat industry but I must tell the truth. I knew of an individual that lived to be 93 years of age; Charles Popplestone is his name. You can find info on him on the web. Originally;men & women weren't meant to survive off of meat, but with vegetables etc. I hope this helps. If you need more info on this, let me know :-)

Human beings are meat eater from time immemorial. Our first ancestors ate animals for survival. Gradually, they knew how to yield crop and since then some of them turned vegetarian. So, it is a personal choice and should not be enforced upon anyone.

Every living thing feels pain. There are many studies that prove plants feel the very same things that animals feel. Just because a head of lettuce won't scream, howl, moo or meow when your kill it, doesn't meant that it isn't. Check out string theory and eat a Big Mac if you think it tastes good. besides, if god didn't want you to eat meat he or she wouldn't have made it so tasty!!

Meat has been part of the human diet since the very beginning. It doesn't take any advanced know how or a lot of work to find and kill animals for nourishment. That is why the earliest humans where considered hunter-gatherers they lived off the land at ate what presented itself as food.

With modern development we have learned to cultivate plants at the time and of the type of our choosing which make plant sources more plentiful and allows for community living. But meat is still an important part of most diets, and I personally don't see a reason not to eat meat since it's readily availble.

God clearly gave humans dominion over animals which according to basic JudeoChristian concepts allows us to eat them. That doesn't mean that we don't have an obligation to treat them humanely, but there is clearly no reason why we can't eat them. Jesus obviously ate meat. So, the question is why do people eat meat? Well, it tastes good and is a necessary part of a healthy diet. Humans are omnivores meaning that we are designed to eat meat and vegetables, fruits etc.
