For me, early on in my marriage, my wife and I didn't have alot of money to buy presents, and for Christmas, she made the Christmas card she gave me, and had saved some money for a new wedding band. I had lost my first wedding band and she bought me a new one. It really meant alot to me.

Also that Christmas, just wanting to spend quality time with me really meant alot to me.

"What I down good hate is being pressured to purchase issues for adults out of kin politics, or having to placed on a satisfied tutor when I acquire something." then you certainly've thoroughly ignored the factor of giving to others out of the sheer unselfish component of your ego. possibly you're having problems because of the fact you think of Christmas is basically approximately giving and receiving. As an person, which you're saying you're, you may desire to understand by potential of now that its approximately spending time together and the *theory that went into supplying you with something first of all. no person *has to purchase you something... why do no longer you get excitement from the assumption in the back of it. Scrooge!!

I don't put alot of emotion in what actual gifts I get, I actually don't like getting gifts much. I love to give them, however!

My ex never really gave me anything to speak of, some very small diamond(chips)earrings once for my birthday, and for our first anniversary he gave me an unfinished hutch. Its pretty well a testament to our failed marriage that he never found the time to finish it in the decades we were together.

The very best present I have ever received is from my daughters, who several years ago gave me a mothers ring. Since we are all born in the same month, the stones are the same color, and so they had theirs put in the ring, and one for me, so we are always together. They saved their money while in college to make sure it was real stones and that meant alot to me. I wear it always.

The best Christmas present I have received was quality time with my spouse. We make extra love and giving of ourselves so who needs money to buy something. Your partner is suppose to be your present all year long.

We were in the same boat as you - lil money early on, lots of love and cuddling time though. We made it a tradition to give something a little extra special physically - ie. extra long back rub, special sexual activity, head massage, foot rub, strip tease, you know - something very intimate but didn't cost any money.

My husband bought me a crystal vase... and brought home flowers for it every month on our Anniversary date...the 19th of the month. I LOVED it and I sure do miss him. He died in January....forty years of flowers was the BEST! Merry Christmas to you and yours!
