It's sad.
Personally I think he deserves to be treated the same way he treated those dogs.....AND a full jail sentence.

I'm guessing if he hadn't been rich and famous he would have gotten the whole sentence. I'm glad he's at least going to prison but like you I wish he was going for longer. The judge should be making an example of him and showing that animal cruelty is NOT acceptable and that there WILL be serious consequences. I hope Vick actually learns from this although if you're abusing animals in your late 20s then chances are you're not likely to change much.

In Spain we have bullfighting and cockfighting and its ok for some reason. I have been to both on a few occations but still do not understand the pleasure in watching an animal die. That said, Vick broke the law and he knew he was breaking the law, so he should be punished. Did anyone really expect he would get the entire 5 year sentence?

I think he got 23 months and a very bad mark in his career . I don't know if the NFL would take him back to play professionally.

And the truly sad part -- like all those other stupid celebrities .. will probably only serve a very, very small fraction of the time .. instead of getting the PUNISHMENT and SENTENCE that they really deserve.
